Eerste Nederlandse Talenpracticum Amsterdam
For more than 60 years ENTA has been providing language courses in 15 languages, most importantly Dutch and English for all levels, from beginners to (near) native speakers.
Language courses
It is possible to make an appointment for a free of charge intake. During this intake we discuss and assess your level (which includes a diagnostic test). Moreover, we appreciate your specific wishes and end goal. You can take a try out lesson (again free of charge) in order to experience how ENTA works.
Depending on your level, the time you have available and the desired goals we will advise a custom made programme. You can start the programme at any given moment, and you can come as often as you want within a wide range of opening hours (morning, afternoon, evening, see time-table below).
The intensity is up to you: 1 lesson in a week up to 5 hours a day.
Our language laboratory is highly suitable for beginners and for those who want to improve their knowledge. The lessons are individual in character, which means that students acquire the language much quicker than in group lessons. Also the pace of the lessons can easily be adjusted to the student’s wishes or needs
Private lessons are also given online (Skype, Zoom or Meet). This is possible for Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, Swedish and Chinese.

Choose your course
We have courses of 10, 30, 40 hours or more. For advanced students private lessons or a combination of language laboratory and private lessons is recommendable. We also provide crash courses (1-2 weeks). Group lessons are given on demand, up to eight people. Their initial level and goal must correspond.
Both the initial levels and end levels are based upon the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF levels).
- level 1: A0 – A1.1 beginners
- level 3: A1.1 – A1.2
- level 3: A1.2 – A2.1
- level 4: A2.1 – A2.2 pre-intermediate
- level 5: A2.2 – B1.1
- level 6: B1.1 – B1.2 intermediate
- level 7: B1.2 – B2.1
- level 8: B2.1 – B2.2 advanced
End goal
Your end goal greatly determines the composition of the lessons. Your end goal might be to talk more fluently in general, but we can also train you to reach a more specific goal. The course can be completely focused on the ‘Dutch as a 2nd language’ exam for instance, or specified to prepare you for your new job or studies. It is also possible to start with a smaller package and take it step by step.

Dutch as a 2nd language
Beginners course Dutch: 30 hours in our language lab. You can start immediately. After this first course you can continue with 30 hours.
You are not a total beginner? Then it is possible to enter the lessons at your current level with a 30 hours course to improve your Dutch.
Preparation for the Basic Civic Integration Examination abroad (Basisexamen Inburgering), Civic Integration Exam (Inburgeringexamen) or State Exam (Staatsexamen NT2-I or NT2-II).
The ENTA offers tailor-made courses to prepare you for these exams. You will learn much about the Dutch language and the Dutch society. In these lessons attention is given to conversation, speaking, writing, reading and listening skills. After this course you will know what is expected of you in the exams, so you will have a good chance of passing the exam.

Students can visit the classes only by appointment. We will allow only small groups. Inside the language laboratory the precautions implemented to create a secure environment remain effective.

About ENTA
ENTA’s philosophy is that people learn a language best when they are pushed to speak. The language laboratory gives the students the opportunity to practise this intensively. ENTA distinguishes itself in this branch through its personal and intensive contact with the students. ENTA is an institute where everybody feels at home, irrespective of background, education or level. Het Eerste Nederlandse Talenpracticum Amsterdam (ENTA) was founded in 1950. Since the 1st of January 2007 the company is in the capable hands of Mrs. R. Vos. Before she became the managing director she worked as a teacher of Dutch and Italian at ENTA.
